Acne
Acne Scars

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Skin Discolouration

Metamorphosis offers the best chemical peel treatments for multiple dermatic conditions that involve using safe acid solutions to remove the scarred outer skin layers. Various combinations of chemical peels like Glycolic acid and TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) are applied depending on the severity of the skin condition. Our chemical peel treatments are carried out by experienced and certified dermatologists who prepare a customised chemical peel plan that perfectly matches your skin type, goals, and requirements.

During your chemical peel consultation, you are welcome to discuss your treatment goals with us. Our skilled doctor will customise a treatment protocol for you and further examine any underlying medical conditions, drug allergies and treatments, current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements usage, previous cosmetic treatments, etc.

Your treating doctor will then examine your face. Take photographs and discuss the likely outcomes of chemical peels and any risks or potential complications.

There are many misconceptions about chemical peels, so we ensure our patients understand our vision for chemical peel treatments and how they will benefit them. We are always transparent about the peel products we will use.

Firstly, we will clean the face with a cleanser, removing oil and sebaceous secretions from your skin, and apply vaseline on the sensitive areas like the corner of the eyes, lips and nose for protection.

Using a soft face brush, the doctor will apply an even coat of the solution to the skin, starting from the less sensitive areas, forehead, chin and cheeks.

The applied solution will be left on your skin for some time, and then we will remove the peel and neutralize the skin using the neutralizing solution.

What Is Chemical Peel?

It is a cosmetic procedure that uses non-toxic chemical solutions to improve skin conditions. It removes the dead skin cell layer and energises cell renewal leading to a fresher and brighter skin texture.

Am I A Candidate For A Chemical Peel Procedure?

Chemical peels are very safe procedures with predictable outcomes. They are suitable for any skin type from Type 1-Type VI. However, it is always best to seek a proper consultation and choose a procedure that is likely to work best for the current condition of your skin and health history.

Who Should Not Take Chemical Peel Treatment?

You should not seek chemical peel treatment if you have very dark skin tone, are pregnant, suffer from cold sores, sagging skin, severe wrinkles, are allergic to aspirin or salicylates, have dormant eczema, or are using Retin-A or Accutane.

What Should I Expect From The Chemical Peel Consultation From Metamorphosis?

A personal consultation is the first step for everyone considering a chemical peel treatment. During this consultation, our skin specialist will evaluate your skin type, discuss your specific cosmetic goals, and assess the health of your skin. It would include checking the severity of any sun damage, uneven pigmentation and surface imperfections. For first-timers, we would do a patch test behind your ear or neck to check for any sensitivity.

Why Do People Say It's Important To Start Chemical Peel Soon?

Our skin naturally sheds dead skin cells every four weeks and replaces them with new healthier cells. However, as we age, this cell turnover slows down considerably. A chemical peel encourages skin cell turnover.

What Happens During A Peel Procedure?

The procedure involves applying the solution to the desired area; this solution exfoliates the skin and speeds up natural skin renewal.

How Long Does A Chemical Peel Take?

It usually takes only about a few minutes, and it will also depend upon the response given by your face.

What Does a Chemical Peel Treat?

Chemical peels effectively treat acne, age spots, uneven skin tone, lightening the skin, photo-damaged skin, scars, softening deeper lines, dark patches, and freckles.

Is the Chemical Peel Procedure Painful?

No, however, you may experience a hot and itchy sensation once we apply the solution. It subsides in a few minutes.

Will My Skin Peel Off?

Yes, for deeper peels, you may experience peeling of the skin. In superficial peels, you will rarely experience any visible peeling. In medium-depth peels, you may or may not experience visible peeling.

What Areas Are Frequently Treated by a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is usually done on the face, neck, upper back and hands.

How Often Should You Get a Chemical Peel Done?

Superficial peels can be repeated every 2/3 weeks. Medium-depth peels can be repeated once in 2-3 months. Deep peels can be done once in 6-12 months.

How Is a Chemical Peel Different From Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a physical exfoliating process with the skin cells being mechanically sloughed away. Chemical peels are a chemical-based exfoliating process. Microdermabrasion is less invasive than a chemical peel.
